Recently, the Department of Science and Technology under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems has sanctioned the prestigious Technology Innovation Hub to IIT Hyderabad in Autonomous Navigation and Data Acquisition Systems (UAVs, ROVs, etc.). Apart from extensive R&D in these areas, the hub will also focus on collaborating with industries, developing human skills and resources, promoting innovation and entrepreneurship, and improving international collaboration. The R&D will also address the challenges arising from the real-time use of autonomous vehicles and navigation systems and how they can be commercialized and applied in various fields including agriculture, surveillance, and infrastructure.
