A data science group at IIT Hyderabad led by Dr. Srijith P.K. and Dr. Maunendra Desarkar, working on Social Network Analysis, used their expertise in Artificial Intelligence, to live stream tweets related to Kerala floods. These tweets contained information regarding places and contacts where resources are needed or are available. The Kerala Floods Help-IIT Hyderabad posts were fully automated with no manual intervention using artificial intelligence techniques. The efforts by the IITH team started to help the student volunteers at IIT Hyderabad who were involved in Kerala rescue operations, by providing them rescue and resource-related information in real-time.
